ORDINANCE NO. O-455

AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE REGULATED USE OF CITY STREETS BY TRUCKS.

WHEREAS, pursuant to ORS 810.010 the Yamhill City Council is the designated road authority for all highways, roads, streets and alleys, other than state highways, within the boundaries of the City of Yamhill; and

WHEREAS, ORS 820.020 - 820.150 provides City Council with specific authority for prohibiting or restricting the use of streets within its jurisdiction; and

WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to protect certain streets from being unduly damaged as a result of their unrestricted use by trucks, NOW THEREFORE,

THE CITY OF YAMHILL ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. Truck Traffic Prohibited. Trucks with more than two axles are prohibited from driving on the following street: North Olive between West Main Street and Pike Road.

Section 2. Publicly owned vehicles and public utility vehicles are exempt.

Section 3. Class B Traffic Violation. Violation of the above provision is a Class B traffic violation.
